2024 PAL Wrestling Preseason Clinic

The PAL Wrestling program will be hosting 8 pre-season fall practices. Dates are as follows 9/19, 9/26, 9/30, 10/10, 10/17, 10/24, 10/30, 11/4 Practice times are Thursdays 6:00pm to 7:15pm at Edison Intermediate School Cafeteria.

The program is only open to returning wrestlers in grades 2nd - 8th.

New wrestlers are eligible to join the winter season where we will have novice (1st year) programs.

Westfield Champions, Flag for kids w/special needs

The Westfield PAL is excited to announce an upcoming Flag Football Minicamp Series "WESTFIELD CHAMPIONS" for Children with Special Needs. The Minicamp will provide 1:1 instruction while moving through stations focusing on passing, catching, rushing and defense, while allowing the children to enjoy time with their friends, neighbors, and classmates. No prior knowledge or football experience is necessary. Please REGISTER to join. All fees have been subsidized by PAL CoEd Flag Football. You must live in Westfield to join the camp.

Where: Tamaques Park

When: October 19, October 26, November 3 from 1:15-2:00pm

Who: Westfield Children ages 5-14 with Special Needs

Dress comfortably, wear sneakers or cleats, and bring a water bottle. An NFL Flag jersey and belt will be provided for all participants. We can’t wait to see you out on the fields.

Welcome to the 2024 Westfield PAL Co-Ed Flag Football program! For those players and families who have played in our league in prior years, welcome back! For our new families, we welcome you to our program.

ABOUT THE LEAGUE

Now let's dive into the electrifying world of the Westfield PAL Flag Football Co-Ed program and discover a game experience like never before! Since 1998, we've been igniting the flame of football passion in kids from 1st to 9th grade and this year we will be adding a new division to include 10th-12th graders. Due to the popularity of the program the Westfield PAL Co-Ed Flag Football program is ONLY open to Westfield residents, those attending school in Westfield, or others who have played with us for 2 or more years.

But it's not just about the game; it's about fostering enduring friendships, learning the ins and outs of football, and embracing sportsmanship like true champions. Our program isn't just about touchdowns and flag pulls; it's about the laughter, the camaraderie, and the memories that last a lifetime. Join us and discover the excitement of the Westfield PAL Flag Football Co-Ed program - where every moment is a touchdown of fun!

ABOUT THE SEASON

All games are played on Saturday mornings at Tamaques Park located off of Lamberts Mill Road in Westfield (Tamaques Park is also accessible from Dickson Drive). The 2024 season kicks off on September 14th and concluding on November 23rd; Playoffs for the older divisions end on November 24th.

The 2024 season time slots for games will be:

1st-3rd grade: 8:15AM - 9:45AM (30 minutes of practice followed by 60-minute games)
4th-6th grade: 10:00AM - 11:30AM (30 minutes of practice followed by 60-minute games)
7th-9th grade: 11:45AM - 1:00PM (15 minutes of practice followed by 60-minute games)
10th-12th grade game 1 8:30AM - 9:45AM, game 2 10:15AM - 11:30AM, game 3 11:45am - 1:00PM (15 minutes of practice followed by 60-minute games)

Our Sister Program

Westfield Girls Flag Football continues, WHOOT WHOOT! The Girls Flag league will have two age groups; 2nd-4th grade and 5th-8th grade and will be playing at Tamaques in the 11:45-1PM time slot. With that said, the "traditional" flag football program will continue to be coed and welcomes both boys and girls; girls are free to choose which league they wish to play in and 2nd-6th grader girls are welcome to play in both leagues if they're up for a morning of flag filled action! NOTE: Girls Flag Football requires a separate sign-up!

KEY DATES

The 2024 Mini Camp will be held on Saturday September 7th, 830am-930am for 7th-12th grade, 10am-11am for 4th-6th grade and 1130am-1230pm for 1st-3rd grade (7th-12th graders are welcome to hang out after their minicamp to run drills for the younger kids).

We urge volunteers and coaches to participate as your involvement and support are crucial to our program's success. Our MANDATORY coaches meeting is scheduled for Thursday, September 5th, at 8pm. All coaches must undergo a required background check.

LIVE DRAFT DATE for 4th-6th, 7th-9th, and 10th-12 will be held on Saturday September 7th at 1230, following the minicamp.

FINANCIALS

The cost for registration will be $120 per player, with a family limit of $360. Save $20 during early registration, which will run through July 14th. Additionally, a late fee of $20 per player will be assessed starting August 19th, and registration will close on September 1st.

Our Mission

Our mission is to empower girls to work together as a team in a fun and safe (non-contact) environment while developing a love of flag football. Our league supports positive values and promotes health, wellness, and self-esteem to inspire and motivate girls to succeed both on and off the field.

We are looking to grow Girls Flag Football in Westfield, provide athletic gear, training for coaches and team building activities. Our league also promotes personal health and continues to enhance the program and overall experience. In recognition of our important role in the community, we will be partnering with local charities that share our mission.

League History

The Westfield PAL Girls Flag Football League rang in our Inaugural Season in September 2022, and had an even more successful 2023 Fall Season with more than 300 girls participating. We are now gearing up for the 2024 Fall Season. We are among the first girls flag football programs in NJ and excited to bring this sport to our town. Interest in girls flag football is exploding worldwide, and it is now an official Olympic sport for 2028. Nike and the NY Jets are sponsoring Girls High School Flag Football throughout NY and NJ, and in the Spring of 2024, Westfield High School Girls will be playing its second season in the Big Central Conference!

New and Important Updates for the 2024 Fall Season

When: Saturday, September 7, 2024, and every Saturday* for the next 10 weeks through November 23rd, from 11:45am - 1:00pm

*There will NOT be a session on October 12, 2024*

Where: Tamaques Park

What: The first 30 minutes will be team practice, while the last 45 minutes will be a game

Who: The program is for 2nd - 8th grade Westfield residents only. One division will be 2nd - 4th graders, while the other division will be 5th - 8th graders. Friend requests must be reciprocal. Limit one friend request. Registration Information to Follow. Rules posted on the website.

Volunteer, Donation and Sponsorship Opportunities

We have big plans and ideas for the upcoming Westfield PAL Girls Flag Football season and beyond, which can only be achieved through community support and involvement. Parent volunteers and coaches are the backbone of any youth sports program, and we are looking for moms, dads, and teens to volunteer their time to help make the program a huge success. We would like to have at least one female coach on every team.
